The day when it all began. Two years ago on Feb 11th ’17, we marked the beginning of our journey together and who knew it was filled with so much love and surprises for us. It was the second anniversary celebration time for Trip Jodi and we knew it had to be special but had no idea how. As always, a journey, a getaway was in our mind but blurred only. The thought process went long and came to the perfect pause at Elixir Hills, Munnar. I must say, they made our second-anniversary celebration picture perfect.

The Munnar

Heading towards Elixir Hills, located 13km from Munnar, we knew that this is not going to be anything usual.

Munnar has always been lovely to us and this paradise in the jungles of Munnar was pure indulgence for us. Reaching at this beautiful resort, from the very beginning we were being impressed by them. The staffs were hospitable and friendly The reception was a pleasure to the eyes. While Ebichan was busy with the formalities I was indulged in the beauty of the combination wooden and glass ceiling used in the architecture of Reception adding to it the hanging lights, they were something very catchy for us to begin with.

The Rooms

Now we had to go through all the formalities and head towards our “Jacuzzi Room &  Both of us were like; WOW !! when we entered the room. A big spacious living room of which one side wall is made of glass,  which gave us the full view of pool adjacent to living space is the bedroom with king-sized bed beautifully set for us and wait for the best part – huge washroom with Jacuzzi!!

There is also a beautiful balcony which overlooks the rainforests. The whole room was spot on from A to Z.

The Jacuzzi

We call a got from the Room Service staffs to check if we wanted assistance to operate the Jacuzzi. We said “Yes” and there we have the people who not only gave us instruction but also decorated the jacuzzi with flowers, candles and lots of bubbles…We did not expect that!

It was our first time to experience the hydrotherapy of Jacuzzi.I felt relaxed soaking myself in the warm water and enjoying the ultimate combination of powerful jets and soothing air bubbles. I wished Ebichan got one for us.

The Food

It was time for lunch and we were served with delicious food including their chef specials. I could get enough of that veg soup and the creamy mushroom pasta and Ebichan enjoyed his non-veg buffet. We stayed in Elixir Hills for 2 days and I must say they serve yum varieties of cuisines for all 3 courses and they do prepare customized dishes as per your request.

The Swimming Pool

Its pool time !! noon time the climate was perfect to dive into the cool pool. The infinity pool was something really spectacular with the view of the rain forest and natural beauty all around us. It has to be specially mentioned that the pool was neatly maintained.I had fun in the baby pool while Ebichan was improving his swimming skills in the deeper one. The best part of the pool that I felt is a preserved tree growing between the pool. Appreciate that the tree was preserved and was not killed for the pool.

Gazebos

Gazebos were completely a filmy thing for me and I always wished for one such experience for me and Ebichan. Surprise surprise!! Our second-anniversary celebrations were leveled up with our gazebos well arranged by candles and balloons. Was I watching a movie or a dream! I cant describe in words how special it felt to both of us.

We had our dinner in the Gazebos, and that was offcourse the most romantic dinner for us. There were other couples in the near by Gazebos and they seemed just like love birds in a cage.

So, that is the end of it all. It was the ultimate celebration for us on our second anniversary.

Wait the Surprise is not over yet !!

On the second day (the day of our second anniversary) just before haeding out for dinner, cleaning staffs visited our room and they asked permission to clean the Jacuzzi. After dinner when we were back, the door opens and there we saw our bed beautifully arranged with flowers, towel arts and the whole room perfectly cleaned! Surprises seemed to have no end at Elixir for our second-anniversary celebration.

THE FINAL DAY

We began our final day at Elixir with a nature walk in the morning guided by the security guard. The birds, their chirps completely refreshed us in the morning. Then we went to a tree house, a cave and a waterfall. As a whole everything was spot on at Elixir hills and thanks to them for making this anniversary celebration special for us.
