Kayaking was something we did not give a try yet. It was through SYZYGY ecosports that we got an opportunity to learn a lot about paddling and got a chance for paddle for hours. We will be sharing all the details regarding this adventurous activity to you. Kayaking in Kerala is something we badly needed as we have enough rivers and backwaters are there.

Kayaking Location
This adventurous aqua sport is located at a very interesting place. The name and logo defines it. SYZYGY means eclipse of three celestial bodies in the sameway here the Arabian sea, SYZYGY ecosports centre and Thanni lake comes in single line.

Our Experience – The Best Kayaking in Kerala
We used public transport well this time. We travelled from Coimbatore to Kollam via train. After we reached kollam, from there we got a bus till Mayyanad and then auto rickshaw to our destination.
The auto rickshaw journey was amazing, where there two types of waterbodies on both sides. One is the vigorous Arabian Sea and the other calm Paravur Backwaters.
There were different types of kayaks in front of us. We had the choice to choose our colour and lift them and park them over the banks.
Alan is the facility manager at SYZYGY. He gave us all the informations and trained us.
We six had great fun with our kayaks for hours. Even the next day we paddled in different direction. We saw many Jellyfishes on the way.
The beach
On the first day after paddling we had lot of fun at beach. This beach is not visited by many. Then at beach we met Tony and Neena who are also a traveling couple like us.
Lakshmipuram beach is very neat and clean beach having sea bridges at regular intervals.
Second day morning after the sunrise it was relaxing to spend time in beach listing to the music of the waves and felt the wind whispering the songs in our ears.

Please not that there is no accommodation facility how ever they can provide you accommodation in the near by hotels or resorts as per your budget.
Well maintained washrooms with locker rooms separate for men and women are available at the SYZYGY Ecosports Kayaking Centre.
Few restaurants are there in walkable distance where you get homely sea foods.
The kayaking activities at SYZYGY Ecosports is carried with precaution. They give us life jackets and trainers will be always with us all the time
Canoeing and kayaking can be done as a hobby, a competitive adventure sport or as a fun activity.
How to Reach
Located in Lakshmipuram Thoppu area of Kollam district in amazing Kerala, our paddling center conveniently sits at the meeting point between the Arabian Sea, the Paravur Lake, and the Ithikkara River, allowing for exceptional access to the beautifully sheltered calm backwaters, open sea, and the beach.
It is the end point of the Ithikkara River (freshwater) and part of the system of lakes and canals that make up the Kerala Backwaters. That is connected to Paravur Lake to the south-east and Ashtamudi Lake to the north-west as part of the Trivandrum – Shoranur Canal (TS Canal) system that’s commissioned in 1880. This waterbody is part of the proposed 558 km long National Waterway No.3, which is known as West Coast Canal. And is the best place to do kayaking in kerala
