Ever wondered of staying in an old colonial building?
Here we share our wonderful experience of statying in a colonial building built in 18th century. This beautiful Homestay is named as Nova Scotia which is an Ecorganic stay, that is located right in the middle of the Missionary Hills from where you can see the entire Ooty city and the amazing fast moving mist.

Nova Scotia:
Established in 1895, this colonial building has a well-maintained lawn with varieties of flowers. The view from the lawn is unbelievably beautiful, you get to see the entire city and colorful cubes of houses and at night the city lights up making the whole city a ” Jewel Box “
We traveled to Ooty this time via public transport and there we got down at Charring Cross bus stop and hired an auto to reach Nova Scotia.


As soon as we reached, we were welcomed with a refreshing welcome drink.
Inside Nova Scotia, is well maintained keeping enough of its original features.
The architecture is based on arches, with big windows and doors made of arches. The floors are wooden, they have a living room that has antique furniture and beautiful antique decoration pieces.

Apart from the lining room, there are two huge bedrooms with fully wooden floors and fireplace inside and attached large washrooms attached.
Food offered in Nova Scotia is prepared by chefs according to the taste of guests. The caretakers are available in 24×7.

Nova Scotia lies in the middle of Tiger Hills, hikking from Nova Scotia for an hour through terrace farming will lead you to a peak which is known only to localaties and from there you will get the 360 degree view of entire Ooty, from the Ooty race course to Ooty markets every thing is visible.
